Building a Great Performance
Sharpen your skills this Summer with three energetic and experienced tutors in our intensive one-day vocal workshop on Tuesday 22nd January 2019.
Toby Francis, Sophie Carter and Helen Perris will give you the lowdown on the tools you need to build amazing vocal performances. The workshop is open to ages 10 to 19. Proudly presented by Helen Perris Music Studio.
Meet the tutors
Toby Francis is a musical theatre performer and producer who is probably best known as Charlie from the Australian production of Kinky Boots. He is the co-founder of Highway Run Productions. His credits also include Rob in High Fidelity, Boland in Dogfight, Galileo in We Will Rock You, and The Ten Tenors. Toby brings a wealth of real world performance experience to the workshop.
“Toby Francis (Galileo) has a vocal range and strength approaching [Freddie] Mercury’s” – Stage Whispers
You may know Sophie Carter as one of The 100 from TV singing competition “All Together Now”, but she also has a substantial list of credits to her name including Jan in Grease the Arena Spectacular, Diva in Priscilla Queen of the Desert, plus King Kong and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Sophie’s experience as a performance coach focussing on connection to the text will be invaluable for participants.
“Sophie’s comic timing, along with the vocal and character work, were stellar” – Talking Arts
Helen Perris is an award winning singer-songwriter and has worked in pretty much every aspect of the performing arts you could name. She spent seven years playing the title character in the acclaimed children’s production The YellowKat show. Helen is the Principal of Helen Perris Music Studio with over twenty years of teaching experience and past students performing professionally in Australia and New York.
“Helen Perris’ sweet voice, charm and comedy flair were also notable.” – Artlook
